Training topics may include:
Visual acuity assessment
Intraocular pressure (IOP) assessment utilizing Tonopen or similar handheld tonometry devices
Proper collection of chief complaint and history of present illness (HPI)
Introduction to basic optical concepts
Reading and understanding eyeglass prescriptions
Operation and practical use of automated lensometers, refractors and keratometers
Basic review of ocular anatomy and physiology fundamentals
Pupil assessment
Assessment of ocular motility and documentation of basic eye misalignment
Each session emphasizes real-world clinical workflow, patient interaction, accuracy, and efficiency to help technicians build confidence and improve day-to-day performance within the practice environment.
Training content can be customized to align with the specific needs, equipment, and workflow of each practice.
Content is broken down into a morning and afternoon session accommodating up to 4 individual technicians per session.
